Why the wolf print? Thanks to an amazingly empowering book called “Women who run with the wolves” (not the easiest of reads but great for reconnecting with your primeval female self!)
AT VET HARMONY WE SPECIALISE IN:
FIGURING OUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT
WORKING OUT YOUR PERSONAL NICHE WITHIN THE VETERINARY PROFESSION
FINDING THE RIGHT TYPE OF COACH FOR YOU
FINDING OUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT
Many of us live with niggling dissatisfaction, knowing what we don’t want; yet finding it hard to clarify what we DO want. It’s easy to feel trapped in our vocational career; wishing that we loved it more of the time than we do! I can help with this.
I’ve worked with an excellent series of career analysts, life coaches and mentors over the sixteen years since graduating from the Royal Veterinary College. Turns out understanding what you want is a highly valuable process that can be learned.
My four years on the senior management team at Vets Now armed me with fantastic techniques for change and growth. Techniques that prove equally effective in our personal lives.
What you want changes over time, so learning these tools is a great life skill to add. I’ve discovered this recently after becoming a parent for the first time!
WORKING OUT YOUR PROFESSIONAL NICHE WITHIN THE VETERINARY PROFESSION
Over the last sixteen years, I’ve worked in pretty much every type of small animal practice there is, from first opinion to referral, charity organisations and emergency OOH work.
I’ve liaised with hundreds of practices around the UK setting up Vets Now emergency clinics. I’ve worked alongside most of the current UK corporate practice groups and over 30 independent practice owners as part of my coaching for Vet Dynamics.
I have seen best (and worst!) practice first hand from the perspective of both veterinary employer and employee. I can help maximise your employability or capability as an employer, balancing this with how you’d like home life to be.
In today’s ever-changing communication-driven world, having the ability to keep re-inventing yourself and following your passions is a vital skill. I’ve proactively navigated through 8 different roles within the profession now, fine tuning what I enjoy and excel at each time.
I use these skills to help design your personal career blueprint – be that in your current practice, at a different practice, in a new area of the vet profession or Even outside it!
There are endless possibilities if you know where and how to look….
FINDING THE RIGHT TYPE OF COACH FOR YOU
Maybe you’ve toyed with having a personal coach or mentor before but had no idea how to find a good one. Googling ‘life coach’ leads to a dizzying array of potentially dodgy people, with no direct experience of veterinary life.
I’ve been successfully coaching veterinary professionals now for eleven years. I deliver powerful, effective results by:
Creating a safe protected space for you to be genuinely and empathically heard.
Knowing how and when to push your comfort zone. I will be the ‘oak tree’ helping hold you firm as you push yourself and make changes
Creating accountability. Knowing you are speaking to your coach regularly helps beat the procrastination gremlin
Preventing self-sabotage. We each have unique ways we do this. I help uncover what’s holding you back and how to take your foot off the brakes
Using the latest evidence-based findings in psychology and neurobiology to get your brain’s natural software working WITH you, and in harmony with your body and soul too
